FAQ

A few answers to common questions about working together.

Does insurance cover NNCP services?

Some extended health plans may provide coverage for nutrition counselling services offered by a CANNP member. Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend checking directly with your insurance provider to confirm your individual coverage.

What happens during my first consultation?

Your first consultation is an opportunity for us to talk about your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, eating habits and goals. Together, we'll identify areas where nutrition and lifestyle changes may be helpful and create practical, personalized recommendations to support you moving forward.

Do I need a referral?

No. You do not need a referral to book an appointment.

How long is an appointment?

The initial consultation is approximately 75 minutes, and follow-up consultations are approximately 30 minutes.

Do you offer virtual appointments?

Yes. Consultations are available virtually or by telephone, so you can receive support from the comfort of your own home.

What should I do before my first appointment?

Before your first consultation, you'll receive an intake questionnaire, symptomatology questionnaire and food journal to complete. These help me learn more about your health, lifestyle and eating habits so we can make the most of our time together.

Do you work with specific dietary needs or restrictions?

Yes. Nutrition recommendations can be adapted to your individual needs, preferences and dietary restrictions. We’ll work together to find an approach that feels realistic and sustainable for you.

Will I receive a strict meal plan?

My approach is flexible and personalized rather than focused on rigid rules or restrictive meal plans. Depending on your needs, I may provide meal and snack ideas, planning strategies and practical suggestions to help make nourishing choices easier in everyday life.

Still have a question?

Feel free to get in touch. I’d be happy to answer any questions you have about working together.
